Reasons to take an online English Course

IHM TEACHER TINA
There are many reasons to take an online English Course. Here are a few you may not have thought of!

You can do it from the comfort of your own home.

One of the most obvious benefits of learning English online is that you can do it easily from home. As long as you have a reasonable internet connection and a suitable device on which to access your class, you are ready to learn! You can be comfortable in your own environment, there is no need to travel.

You have access to fantastic learning tools online.

We use a whole range of fantastic online learning and support tools to help our students make good progress.

  • MS Teams provides students with a central hub where they can access their class information, lesson plans, whiteboards from lessons and be in contact with their teacher, classmates and school support staff. It’s an online learning community!
  • Access to e-learning with Macmillan English Campus
Additional learning materials for students extra online self-study language practice, anytime and anywhere they want. Macmillan English Campus gives you carefully graded practice materials for all four skills, at every language level and covering a wide variety of topics, all in one place.

You don’t have to miss out on the classroom experience.

  • Using innovative technology we offer hybrid lessons. This means that our online students join our students who are studying face to face in school in Manchester, and both take part in the same class. High powered speakers, microphones and cameras allow you to interact and communicate with your teacher and classmates, just as you would if you were in the classroom in Manchester.

You can still join in with social activities online.

At IH Manchester our online courses are much more than just your time in class. We offer a variety of social activities online each week so you don’t miss out on the important social aspects of your English course. Meet up with your classmates and other International House students from all around the world as you enjoy practising your English in a fun and friendly environment. We also hold a conversation club once a week, to give students further free speaking practice.

    It’s a flexible option.

Are you a student? Do you have a job? Do you have a family? We all live busy lives, more so now than ever. We live in a fast-paced word. An online English course can fit around your busy lifestyle. You can learn for just two hours a week or maybe an hour or a day. Or you can take a more intensive course of 15,21 or 25 hours per week.

    Improve your confidence.

We all feel nervous when we are doing something new, it’s completely natural. Learning a language online is a great way to increase your confidence, at your own pace, in your comfort zone.

Do something productive with the time you are spending online.

We all spend lots of time online, sometimes not the most productive time, but we all do it. Instead of social media, endless YouTube videos, movies and online shopping why not spend some of your online time improving your English? It’s a lot of fun and it’s productive.
