Everyone here at IH Manchester is passionate about helping students to be able to communicate in the wider world and connect with the people around them. Language shouldn’t be a barrier, it should bring people together.
RefuAid is a charity that helps asylum seekers access higher education and re-qualify in their professional fields here in the UK. It is a fantastic charity that makes a huge difference to people’s lives every day.
IH Manchester support RefuAid by offering English courses for some of their students free of charge. We have continued to do this throughout lock down with our online English courses.
IH Manchester Principal, John Glew-O’Leary, spoke with Mohib Ullah from RefuAid about the work they do and how learning English online has helped their students.
John and Mohib discussed how students have been able to improve their English further by attending our online social activities and by using the additional learning materials that are on offer alongside our English lessons. These benefits are included with all of our online English Courses. The social activities especially are great for bringing students together and Mohib commented that it has been really important to keep students motivated during lockdown.
We have been delighted to be able to continue our partnership with RefuAid over recent months and look forward to continuing to do so.
