The festival will include both free and ticketed events. The Gay Village Party and the brand-new Mardi Gras will be ticketed, and visitors will need to buy a special wristband (called a “Pledge Band”) to enter. Buying a ticket will also help fund LGBTQ+ community projects in Greater Manchester.
Heart of the Festival: Mardi Gras
A thrilling new highlight for 2025 will be the Mardi Gras. This two-day event (23–24 August) will take place at Depot Mayfield and Freight Island, and it will offer a high-energy celebration with world-class artists, DJs, drag performances, and cabaret shows.
The line up will include famous artists such as Nelly Furtado, Leigh-Anne (formerly of Little Mix), Billy Porter, Olly Alexander, Tulisa, Big Freedia, Tayce, Gok Wan, and many more. The atmosphere will be electric, glamorous, and full of pride.
The Parade and Celebration of Love
One of the most powerful parts of Manchester Pride will be the Love Parade, happening on Saturday 23 August. The theme for 2025 will be “Love,” showing how love gives strength and helps people be themselves.
The parade will start in central Manchester and move through major streets before reaching Sackville Gardens, close to the Gay Village. Fun at the Gay Village
The Gay Village Party will run from 22 to 25 August and will celebrate queer culture with cabaret shows, funfair rides, a silent disco, and queer anthems.
There will be two main areas: one stage named after mathematician Alan Turing, where acts like Sister Sledge and Danny Beard will perform, and an Indoor Arena for late-night dancing and a silent disco. The mix of performances will create a sense of community and joy in the heart of Manchester’s LGBTQ+ scene
Thoughtful Close: Candlelit Vigil
Manchester Pride will end with a Candlelit Vigil on Monday 25 August. In Sackville Gardens, people will come together by candlelight to remember those lost to HIV/AIDS and to reflect on shared struggles and hopes for the future.
It will be a quiet and meaningful moment to close the festival. After so much energy and celebration, the vigil will remind everyone of the importance of compassion, solidarity, and remembrance.
