Karate For Self Defence Event

We are thrilled to be offering a karate for self defence workshop this week as part of social programme, we will be joined by Jane who will be leading the session.

Jane started taking karate classes 7 years ago. Initially she had taken her children to karate twice a week. Jane simply sat and watched them before driving them home again. Until suddenly, she decided that she would enrol, too. She had become so fascinated with karate, as an observer, that she decided it was time to try it out for herself.

And she has achieved so much ever since. Four years later, in 2017, Jane was awarded her black belt. To get to this stage so quickly she had to train up to 6 days a week. Karate training provides a hard work-out. It is training your mind and your body to fight for survival. You are training to defend yourself against an attacker, who potentially wants to kill you.

Like Jane herself says: “Karate is not just a hobby, it’s a way of life.”

One day last year, Jane was asked to step in and cover a class at the last minute. She stepped up and she did it well, she’s now now an Assistant Karate Instructor. Jane loves nothing more than to take on a challenge and she has the determination and stamina that ensures she will succeed.

During Thursday’s session Jane wants to share her passion for karate with you. She wants to show you some simple but effective moves that could help you survive an attack. Be prepared to get active and enjoy a workout.
