IH Manchester Back to School!

Back to School – with Julie, our Accommodation and Welfare Officer
Julie Battesti
As we prepare to return to school no-one has been busier than our fantastic Accommodation and Welfare Officer, Julie Battesti. Julie plays a key role in the IH Manchester team looking after our students in school as well as arranging homestay accommodation.

Julie says:

“I am very much looking forward to getting back to school! It has been hard not going to school every day, seeing my colleagues and students. I am looking forward to slowly going back to normality.
It will be great to be able to welcome new students again, introduce them to life in Manchester, chat, laugh and learn about their culture. I have missed my colleagues a lot too, Mina, Marie, Joseph etc. You spend a lot of time at work so it is great to be working with lovely people. “

Julie has been busy preparing for our staff and students safe return to school and of course working closely with homestay hosts in readiness for students arriving in Manchester.

“Our Homestay hosts are ready and waiting! Lockdown has been lonely for many people and hosts are looking forward to welcoming students again.
School may look a little bit different, as our students and staff’s safety is our main priority, but the classrooms and lounge area all look bright and airy, with plenty of room to social distance and stay safe.
We are all learning as we go along in these very strange times but we want students to feel safe and secure in Manchester. If students are at all worried or have any concerns they should talk to a member of staff or their homestay host and we will help them!”

Our Frequently Asked Questions page can answer any questions students may have about their upcoming time in school and Manchester.

Julie and the whole IH Manchester team are really looking forward to welcoming students back to school from the 3rd August. Students will participate in our new “hybrid lessons”. Using the very best innovative technology they will be joined in the classroom by our online students.
