The people of Yorkshire call their area ‘God’s own county’, and on this adventure, you will see why! We will take you to some of the most amazing places Yorkshire has to offer. Walk to the top of an ancient waterfall for a spectacular view, then visit beautiful Skipton – named as England’s number 1 market town. You can take the chance to visit the 900 year old castle or walk by the canal. Finally, we travel back to the 12th century as we wander around the ruins of Bolton Abbey, set in its breath-taking garden estate. Try the stepping stones across the river if you’re feeling brave


★ Transport by executive coach

★ Malham Cove – Short hike to the top of a beautiful and unique geographic feature, and also a filming location from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. (Please wear boots or supportive shoes)

★ Visit Skipton (lunch stop) See the busy markets, walk by the canal or visit the castle (£7)

★ Drive through the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park

★ Visit Bolton Abbey – see the amazing gardens (Abbey entrance included)

At the school we organise social activities and excursions for our adult students all year long. This helps you to quickly and easily make friends. We will also help you to explore Manchester. You can also practise your English outside of the classroom.
We know that everybody doesn’t always like to do the same things, so we always offer a choice of activities.
Participating in social activities helps you to improve your spoken English fluency and increase your vocabulary. Some activities are arranged and accompanied by IH Manchester staff, some are suggested independent activities.
It will cost you approximately £50.00 GBP per week to participate in all social activities, including the full day Saturday excursion. Dinner in a Manchester restaurant, student pays for their meal. This will cost you between £10.00 and £20.00 GBP. The price of the food and drinks that you order.
Drinks in a Manchester bar, you pay for your drinks. This will cost between £5.00 and £15.00 GBP. The price of the drinks that you buy.
Some Saturday excursions are organised and run by Smile Adventures, an independent company. Students under the age of 18 will always be accompanied by a member of IH Manchester staff on all excursions.
