From 15 December 2020, international arrivals in England can have a COVID-19 test after five days of self-isolation, potentially reducing quarantine time.
From 15 December 2020, passengers arriving in England from countries not featured on the UK Governmentโsย travel corridor listย can take a COVID-19 test (from a private provider) after five days of self-isolation. A negative result releases them from the need to isolate.
Under the โTest to release for international travelโ strategy, passengers arriving in England by plane, ferry or train should book their test before travel. They must complete aย passenger locator formย and will still need to self-isolate for five days before taking a test (rather than taking it at their port of arrival). Travellers arriving from non-exempt countries who decide not to have a test must continue to follow currentย self-isolation requirements.
