England to Introduce Covid-19 Testing for International Arrivals

From 15 December 2020, international arrivals in England can have a COVID-19 test after five days of self-isolation, potentially reducing quarantine time.

From 15 December 2020, passengers arriving in England from countries not featured on the UK Governmentโ€™sย travel corridor listย can take a COVID-19 test (from a private provider) after five days of self-isolation. A negative result releases them from the need to isolate.

Under the โ€˜Test to release for international travelโ€™ strategy, passengers arriving in England by plane, ferry or train should book their test before travel. They must complete aย passenger locator formย and will still need to self-isolate for five days before taking a test (rather than taking it at their port of arrival). Travellers arriving from non-exempt countries who decide not to have a test must continue to follow currentย self-isolation requirements.
