Group Lessons – Build a Strong Base

These lessons help you speak more naturally and clearly in everyday English. You will improve your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and skills in a friendly group. Not only that, but you will also get valuable experience communicating with users of English from around the world. All of this is the base you need for good Business English.

One-to-One Lessons – A Plan Made Just for You

This is more than just a few extra business lessons. We give you a personal, professional English language plan made for your job and your goals and deliver it with experienced, knowledgeable teachers. We start with a full check of your English level and needs. Then we make a clear, detailed, personalised learning plan just for you. You will study and practise the English you need, in a way that works best for you.

Business English Course Information

Course material	All materials are supplied during classes. Book purchase is not compulsory. A course book will be provided free of charge for courses of 8 weeks or more. A course book can be purchased for £40.00 for classes of 1-7 weeks.

Our Approach to Teaching and Learning

Our approach guides everything we do in the classroom and helps our students get the most from their time in Manchester.

At IH Manchester, we use a communicative approach. This means students learn useful groups of words and phrases and then practise using them in real-life situations. This helps students speak more naturally, listen with more confidence, and improve their English for study, work, and everyday life.

We want students to understand English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Most importantly, we want them to be able to use English when they need it. Every lesson gives students the chance to learn new language, practise it in different situations, and use English outside the classroom.

As well as speaking and listening, we also help students improve their reading and writing. This gives students the four English skills they need to communicate with confidence.

All of our courses follow these principles:

People learn a language best by using it to communicate with others.
Learning is more effective when it matches students’ interests, goals, and needs.
Knowing English is not enough. Students also need to use it in real-life situations.
Language learning includes learning and practising common groups of words and phrases, not only single words.
Each lesson has clear aims that connect with previous lessons and help students prepare for future lessons.
Learning is a two-way process. We listen to students’ feedback, think about it, and use it to improve our teaching.
Students learn best in a positive, friendly, and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable.
All classes give students regular chances to communicate in English.
Students regularly check their progress during their course and at the end of their course. They also receive clear feedback to help them improve their English.
Learning does not stop in the classroom. Students are encouraged to study on their own and use English every day so they become more confident and independent.
Using English in the UK and taking part in cultural activities are important parts of the learning experience.

  If you’re visiting Manchester for the first time and looking for an English language school, I highly recommend this one. The teaching is excellent and easy to understand, and the staff are friendly. The service is great, and you get the chance to meet students from various countries and learn about different cultures. As someone who used to struggle with grammar, I’ve seen significant improvement since studying here and feel much more confident communicating while living in an English-speaking country. And I’m very grateful to the teachers here; they’re very patient and enthusiastic about helping students.

  My experience at IH Manchester was excellent. I took an intensive English course with five hours of lessons a day, and I am very happy with both the quality of the teaching and the support I received. The teachers were excellent, the classes were engaging, and all the staff were friendly, helpful and genuinely attentive to the students’ needs.

The school also organises social activities, trips and events, which give students the opportunity to practise English outside the classroom, explore Manchester and meet people from all over the world.

I came to Manchester to improve my English, but I am leaving with so much more: greater confidence, international friendships and many wonderful memories.
