The EU PON funding scheme for Italian state schools.
Available to Italian State secondary school groups. Initially this was restricted to the regions of Sicily, Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Basilicata. Now extended to also include the other regions throughout Italy. Italian students attending 3rd, 4th and 5th years of secondary education (aged 16–19 years) will have the opportunity to take English language courses at B2 and above. Students must have a certified level of B1 English to be eligible for the programme.
1 for group of 15 students, accompanied by an adult teacher, per school.
€ 3,000.00 budget available per student for a 3 week English language course. Maximum level of funding is €45,000 per group of 15.
PON funding is available for English courses offering 60 hours (4 hours a day) of instruction and lasting 3 weeks. Courses must be completed by the end of the 2017/18 academic year. Must also include; airport transfers, homestay or
residential accommodation, closed group.
By the end of the course they must take and pass a B2 English language exam
(Trinity GESE 7) and €200 / student is available separately for this. IH Manchester is a Trinity ESOL Exam centre in the UK and so can administer this by the end of the course.
An agent must work with both the Italian school and English school.
